MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers is requesting that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) conduct a Preliminary Damage Assessment in Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties, following severe winter storms and lakeshore flooding that occurred Jan. 10-12, 2020. The process is the first step in determining whether the state will request a federal disaster declaration.

Tony Evers today signed Executive Order #47 declaring a State of Emergency for Chippewa, Clark, and Dunn counties, after strong storms hit the area Tuesday night, producing a tornado that injured two people and damaged over a dozen homes and other structures. The storm also downed trees and power lines, leaving several thousand utility customers without power.
