MADISON, Wis – When dangerous thunderstorms and tornadoes develop, it’s essential to have a reliable way to receive alerts about approaching severe weather. This Wednesday, May 5 is NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards Awareness Day and ReadyWisconsin encourages everyone to add one of these life-saving devices to their home.
MADISON, Wis. – With no expected risk of severe weather in Wisconsin on April 15, the state’s annual tornado drill will proceed as planned. Everyone in the state is invited to participate by going to their designated tornado shelter at 1:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. today, or during a time when they can safely practice.

Tony Evers has declared April 12-16 Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, and ReadyWisconsin wants everyone to take time to talk about weather safety with their families. MADISON – Gov. Tony Evers today sent a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requesting that the president issue a major disaster declaration for the entire state of Wisconsin, as a result the COVID-19 pandemic. The request covers all 72 counties and the state’s federally recognized tribes.

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today announced that a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) major disaster declaration has been granted for three Wisconsin counties. The declaration for Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Racine counties comes in response to severe winter storms that affected areas along the Lake Michigan shoreline on Jan. 10-12 of this year, causing extensive damage to public infrastructure throughout the region.
