MADISON, Wis. – Registration is now open for the 2022 Wisconsin Governor’s Cybersecurity Summit, being held Oct. 23-25 at the Wilderness Resort – Glacier Canyon Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells. This annual summit brings together national cybersecurity experts, government and academic leaders, and the business community to build relationships while sharing knowledge and experience.
“The annual Wisconsin Governor’s Cybersecurity Summit connects state of Wisconsin critical infrastructure resources, information security experts, and innovative solution providers together with essential information, best practices, and technologies needed to prevent and combat cyber attacks,” said Trina Zanow, Wisconsin’s chief information officer. “This is crucial in today’s ever-advancing technological and cybersecurity landscape.”
“From kids in schools to adults in workplaces, almost everyone relies on internet-connected devices in their daily routines. As this interconnectivity grows, so does the threat of criminals taking advantage of people,” said Maj. Gen. Paul E. Knapp, Wisconsin’s adjutant general and the governor’s cybersecurity advisor. “This summit allows us to focus on how cybersecurity is important to protecting the digital lives of everyone in our state.”

The agenda includes keynote speeches on issues such as the impact of cyber attacks on supply chains, along with breakout sessions focused on topics that include cybersecurity in education, government agencies, and the private sector. This year’s summit also features a day focused entirely on women in cyber, with programming aimed specifically at women currently working or pursuing an education in the field of cybersecurity.
“The summit provides an excellent opportunity for the private and public sector to share information, improve their defenses and educate users about the complex risks we all face,” added Kathy Blumenfeld, Wisconsin Department of Administration secretary-designee.
There are more than 714,000 cybersecurity job openings in the United States, according to CyberSeek, a project supported by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), a program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the U.S. Department of Commerce.
College students who are interested in filling these critical jobs are also encouraged to attend the summit, with special student rates available. The summit is an opportunity to gain valuable career insight and network with industry professionals.
