Registration is now open for the 2023 Wisconsin Governor’s Cybersecurity Summit, being held Oct. 23-25 at the KI Convention Center and Hyatt Regency in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This annual summit brings together national cybersecurity experts and leaders from the government, academic and business communities to build relationships while sharing knowledge and experience.

“The annual Wisconsin Governor’s Cybersecurity Summit is a collaboration forum perfect for learning, growing, and connecting with individuals interested in cybersecurity,” said Trina Zanow, Wisconsin’s chief information officer. “Now more than ever, Wisconsin organizations need to stay ahead of threats and mitigate risk. This premier event will deep dive into trends, insights, and innovative strategies to help participants develop sound security programs.”

“The public and private sectors must work hand in hand to exchange threat intelligence, best practices, and lessons learned,” said Maj. Gen. Paul Knapp, Wisconsin’s adjutant general and the governor’s chief cybersecurity advisor. “By establishing robust partnerships and information-sharing networks, we can enhance our collective defenses and respond swiftly to emerging threats.”

The Governor’s 2023 Cybersecurity Summit is coordinated by the Wisconsin Department of Administration and the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs. To register, visit https://wigcot.eventsair.com/cyber23.

This year’s agenda includes presentations and breakout sessions focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity certifications, and ransomware attacks. Keynote speakers include Theresa Payton, one of the nation’s most prominent cybersecurity authorities and the first female White House chief information officer, and Milwaukee Brewers Vice President of Information Technology Derek Hyde.

Following its successful introduction last year, the first day of the summit will again focus on women working in cybersecurity. The session on Oct. 23 will include presentations designed specifically for women working in cybersecurity jobs or who are pursuing an education or career in the field. The summit offers special registration rates for students who are studying for a career in cybersecurity. The event offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable career insight and network with industry professionals.
