There are concerns about rising lake levels in Madison and surrounding communities, and the need to lower water levels on Lake Mendota has resulted in flooding further down the Yahara River, which connects the lakes. Up to two inches of rain is forecast in the region Sunday night, with potentially localized heavy rainfall. This could result in the continued rise of lake levels and additional flooding.
